Christmas morning is the ONLY day I'm OK with my kids waking me up at 6am. It was so cute to see them so excited. They each riped in to the gifts as soon as we gave them the OK hehehe.

This Christmas has been so fun! Christmas eve my sister Nicole and my nephew Jesse came over to have some holiday cheer. The kids had such a blast together. Not to mention we used our web came with my mom so Mom and Mike could see the kids open their gift from them. It was really neat I love having the web cam. After that we headed out to see some Christmas lights.

Justin and Sara
So alot of you have heard about Justin's "Friend" Sara from school. Well this year Justin wanted to get her a present so he asked her mom (Lisa their class mom as well) what she liked, and told her not to tell Sara he was getting her something. Well it was SO CUTE on the last day of school he gave her her gift. She was so excited and I don't think I have ever seen Justin's face so red! So yesterday (Christmas eve) Lisa and Sara made a surprise trip to our house and Sara had a small gift for Justin. I FINALLY remembered to take a pic of them together. So enjoy this cute pic of Justin and Sara (their little crush is so cute)

The house that Justin built
Justin's teacher is doing some really FUN things with the kids this last week of school, before winter break. One fun thing they got to do was make Gram cracker house's. I think Justin did a great job! He was so excited about his house and was even nice enough to share his creation with his sister. Yes they ate EVERY bit of it!

Christmas Time!
Merry Christmas from The Rogers! All the Thanksgiving leftovers are all gone, and out come the lights and ornaments and our trip to the tree lot. This year is so much fun with the kids. Skyla is really old enough to get everything about Christmas and how special it is and Justin (after dodging a few miss hap's) Still believes in Santa (I think he might figure it out next year though).
OK so I have to tell you about Justin and his Santa questions. All kids find out Santa isn't real I know this but, Justin is only 6 and I think he should still believe in him. Once a kid stops believing in Santa they seem so grown up and some of the magic of Christmas is gone, and I'm not ready for that. Well I guess some older kids at school told Justin Santa wasn't real and of course he came home and asked me. I told him Yes Santa is real but that was not a good enough answer.
Mick and I love to spoil the kids but we don't go over broad. There are plenty of times that we have to tell the kids we cant do something because we just don't have the money. We also tell them this when we just don't want to do something hehehe. Anyways Justin understands it and excepts it. He knows that we do fun stuff and just because we cant buy him everything he wants that isn't what is important anyways. I really am grateful for this time I hope it will make my kids humble adults. Well Justin came home and asked if it was Santa or us who get the Christmas gifts. Then told me about the kids at school. So I came up with a idea (witch was easy to explain since he is learning about money at school too). I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he gave me his list. SO I got the idea to take him online and look up everything he wanted and show him how much it would cost us to buy everything. Everything he wanted came to about $830. He was shocked, he couldn't believe that everything he wanted cost so much money. Then we add up somethings Skyla has asked for (witch is everything she sees on TV and a real horse to top it off, but I left out the horse). Then we add up the 2 sums ( not bad I got him to practice some math wile I tried to convince him Santa was real hehehe) Anyways Total for both kids and everything they would like came to almost $1,800 Justin couldn't believe it. Then I showed him how much Mick makes from work and all our bill's. When we were done he told me that he knew Santa was real cause there was NO WAY Mick and I could by them all the things they get for Christmas from Santa. In his own words "That is so much money and Mom any body who spends that much for toys is crazy. I would rather get no toys for Christmas and take the money and go to Disneyland. Is that enough for Disneyland can we add that up now?"
When Justin came home from school the next day he told me that he saw the same kids and told them that they were wrong. There was a Santa cause Moms and Dads cant afford to buy all the things kids want. Then he told them that they are just mad cause since he still believes in Santa and Santa still come to our house then he told them to humble them selves hahahaha. That's my son! Lisa, Justin's class mom saw and heard this and she said that Justin said it with so much confidence and that the older kids didn't know what to say that they just agreed with him and left it alone.
I'm so glad he still believes in Santa and was humbled a bit by all of this that he cut his wish list down and even came up with some really cute things to ask for. So now instead of all toys here is Justin's new Christmas list.
1) Spike the ultra Dinosaur
2) Lots of house's decorated Christmas eve (we go out on Christmas eve and drive around to see the lights then come home and have hot coco)
3) Enough money to go to Disneyland in Feb or March as a family
4) For all his friends and family to have a good Christmas
5) For Mick to not have to work so hard all the time
Justin is such a sweet boy and its so neat to see him grow everyday. I'm really going to miss these innocent times of childhood, but I'm so proud of the wonderful Man Justin is going to grow up to be. I'm also very grateful that he isn't a sneaky kid and hasn't figured out that we start Christmas shopping for them in like Sept and all their gifts are hidden in the house.
I had to post both pics of the kids by the tree. This one Justin was being silly by not looking at me but, you can really see how Big Skyla is getting in this one. She is so tall its crazy! Mick and I both think she is going to pass Justin in height some time soon. Poor Justin is so Skinny like Mick that Skyla now weighs the same as him. Another thing that sucks is all our friends that have Girls older then Skyla that gave us their hand-me-downs cant anymore. Sky is ether in the same size or bigger then those girls and one the the girls is 7 years old!
I Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

I LOVE "Twilight"
As Most of you know I'm a HUGE "Twilight" fan. I LOVE the books and was way excited for the movie. So I finally got to go see the movie on Wednesday the day before thanksgiving with a bunch of my fun girly friends. We had such a blast. The movie totally did not disappoint, it was GREAT! It was so great that Mick took me to see it again Friday night and I might even go back this fri to see it a 3rd time.
Also if you have not heard the sound track you have to. There is so much great music on there I just love.
Cant wait for "New Moon" to come out. I'm so excited they are doing it I hope they do all 4 books in to movies.
O and YES Edward is really HOT all the vampires are really good looking, maybe that's why I like the movie so much? :P

"NO NAP"
I'm a really Lucky Mom. I have 2 wonderful kids, they are a true blessing each and everyday. I'm also a Lucky Mom cause at 6 and 3 years old I can still get them to take naps :)
Lately though Skyla has been fighting taking a nap, so the passed few day I have let her stay up and needles to say by 5pm we are fighting with her to stay up till bedtime at 8pm. Even if this Girl gets a 10min cat nap at 5pm its all over she can be up till midnight with no problem.
Today she had Joy school and was up and out most of the day. When we finally got home at 1:30pm she asked right away if she had to take a nap. I told her No she could stay up. About 15 min later I realised it was really quiet in the living room so I went and checked on her and this is what I found........

At this meeting he got presented with his Bobcat badge, Tiger totem and beads for each Den activity, family activity and elective he has completed. As you can see from the pics he has done a lot he got 9 beads.

Getting ready for winter
For my Birthday gift my Mom and Mike got me a Knifty Knitter loom's. They are so much fun! The first thing I made was myself a scarf and I love it. Its great for the cold early mornings when we have to take Mick to work during the week (at 6:30am its pretty cold). After I finished mine I really wanted to make some for the kids. I took both of them to the craft store and let them pick out what type of yarn they liked. For Skyla's I found these really cute charms you can add on to your knitted projects. I think I did pretty good, but most of all the kids LOVE their things (which is why I made them in the first place) Justin picked this stretchy black yarn which is good cause it doesn't feel tight around his ears which has been a problem with store bought hats (poor kids has his dads ears hehe) But its really warm and hold heat in like crazy.

Trick or Treat
This Halloween was so much fun! Here are the kids with full make up, I love how it came out :) We got Justin fake facial hair and he love it. I also added some of my dark eyeshadow around his eyes to give him a more dirty mean pirate look.

Happy Halloween
We Carved Pumpkins on Wednesday night. It was really fun (I love the holidays) the kids did most of the work getting all the guts out witch was really nice I think we are going to start doing that from now on. They insisted on me cooking the seeds for them so I did. Justin LOVES pumpkin seeds (who knew). Justin and Skyla both wanted to draw their own faces for their pumpkins. Skyla of course got a little help but we let Justin completely do his on his own. I help skyla carve her's wile Mick watched Justin do his. Yep he is getting older, Justin got to carve his whole pumpkin all by himself this year. And I think he did a awesome job :)

Hula Baby
Sky has a big dance show coming up this Sat. She is so excited cause so far at all the shows she has only been doing 1 dance (twinkle little star its a tap dance). This one is such a huge thing that she will be doing 3 dances. Twinkle little start is one, then she will be doing her new dance that we just got the costume for Hula Baby (I'm sure Auntie Kami loves this one), then the whole dance studio does a big final number together called "All for one".
I love this costume it so cute!!! Mick pulled the total Dad card tonight when I tried it on her LOL. Fist it was "is she going to wear anything under her skirt cause you can see her panties?" Me: Yes hun she will have on a pair of shorts under. Then I got "is that the top?" Yep "but its just a fake coconut bra" Yeah I know "that's all she is wearing.......I don't know if I like that" Mick its a hula dance she looks like a hula girl and its cute. She is still little it doesn't matter at least she is covered. "Yeah I guess at least its a short song" :P such a Dad!

Skyla Girl
As many of you know Sky has been having some skin problem's. Mainly around her mouth and on her right arm in the crease where she bends her elbow. We have notices around her mouth gets really bad when she eats anything with tomato's in it, or tomato's them selves. Well now it has been happening alot more and now her arm is doing it. We took her to the Doc and they assumed it was some type of food allergy.
Good news from the Doc she has NO food allergies! She is also not allergic to Dog's, cat's, mold, perfumes or cockroaches (ewwww had no idea there was a test for that). BUT she does have eczema, Tomato's seem to really irritate the eczema around her mouth and chin so we should keep her away from that as much as we can. Besides that she is fine. They did give us a endless prescription for this medicated hydrocortisone cream we can us on her and said to just give her benadril at night if it gets really bad. I'm just grateful its not something more.
Now we just have to watch it and make sure we put the cream on it (mainly her face) when it acts up cause it can scare. Raising kids what an adventure.

My trip to my Mom's
I have had the best week ever! I got to go to CT by my self to visit my Mom (and Mike :) ). It was so much fun we had the best time. Mike and My Mom are awesome they wouldn't let me pay for anything (thanks again guys) I even got yelled at when I would try to pay for my own food. It was really nice being spoiled for a week. OK so here are TONS of pics from my trip. This is a huge post so be ready........
Day 1 (Monday) SO I took Bart from Castro Valley to the SFO airport. It was nice and really easy. The only thing that sucked was I had to catch Bart at 4am, but you would be shocked at how many people are on Bart that early. I got to my Mom's at 5:30pm est and we headed right out to go eat at the Olive Garden. My flights were really good, long but good. It was nice to just finally get there.
I don't look to bad for being up at 3:30am
Day 2 (Tuesday) The Big E!
Every year New England has this huge fair, its like a state fair but for all of New England. Its called the Big E and let me tell you this was the coolest Fair I have ever been too!
There are LOTS of animal things going on. One of my faves was seeing the Clydesdale Horses. The are just so huge! We also got to watch Ox pulling (that was really neat).
There are so many exhibits and booths to see. Here is a huge pumpkin someone had grown then painted on.
Also one of the big things is the State houses. There are 6 and each one is a replica of what that states State house looks like. Then inside is a huge market of vender's from that state and stands of food of things that state is know for. This one is Road Island
Here is Massachusetts. I really liked the Lion and Unicorn on the top corners.
Maine, They had the best chocolate in this one and of course fresh Wild Maine blueberry's.
Vermont
Connecticut (wwwooohhoooo CT rocks hehehe)
Connecticut I didn't know is known for Lego's and Peeze. I had no idea those 2 thing came from there. Here is Mom with a Lego Indiana Jones. Pretty cool :)
New Hampshire.......This one was my fave I just love how it looks.
Do I really need to say how yummy these were :)
Day 3 (Wednesday) BOSTON!!!!!!
This is Quincy Market its part of Faneuil Hall witch is one of the first and oldest shopping centers. It was built when the settlers first came over and was also used for meetings and stuff (lots of history). In side both building is a world-win of shopping. Lots of stands and shops and food up the yinyang. Of course the settlers were very smart with all the snow Boston gets all shopping is indoors.
This was the front of his home, O and if you look really close at the street you will see its made out of cabool stones. It was really cool to walk around Boston and see some of the streets made out of the original cabool stone the settlers put there and all the old buildings. So much history about our county in one small area, it was amazing.
Here is a super cute Boston street. I just love how this city looks.
After walking the Freedom trail we decided to go grab a bite to eat, and where else are you going to eat in Boston then CHEERS.
Where Everybody knows your Name :) (O and they really do have good food, there fries were so good).
Yep that's a 7-Eleven, I have never seen a 7-11 look so nice. I even felt a little under dressed to go in LOL.
They also have this huge tank that runs from floor to about 10 feet from the ceiling of the building and this tank is massive. They have all kinds of fish in here, Sharks, needle fish, eels and even 3 sea turtles. This one here was the biggest. You can even see the divers that where in the tank cleaning it and the turtle was like 3 times this women's body.
Then we hoped the T train and headed across town to the Prudential Center. We went all the way to the top (50th floor) to check out the view.
Here is the city of Boston and part of the Boston harbor
and this I found out is the same harbor that that Boston Tea party took place.
On the ground floor was a few restaurants. So we had to stop in the cheesecake factory for some desert before we left.
Here is the T train we took all over Boston.
Day 4 (Thursday) Lazy day
This little guy totally reminded me of Juristic park.
Look out he looks hungry.
This is the front of the place with Monty the T-rex. Now how on earth are you supposed to drive by this with out your kids going crazy. O and during xmas they put a santa hat on him and put big presents at his feet. Then for Summer he has sunglasses and a coke in his hand. It was so cool I love it.
That night I got to meet up with some of my step dads family that I just love. His sister-inlaw Melissa and His mom Mrs. C. my Mom, Mike ( how sweet he even took the day off work so he could hang out with me before I left), Moms friend Dawn and one of Dawns friends and I all went out that night to go play Bingo at this really pretty casino called Foxwoods. Let me tell you Bingo is fun and nerve racking at the same time. I had a blast playing and even more fun checking out the die hard bingo players with all there little good luck charms in special spots on the tables. We played like 4 hours of bingo, none of us won but we had so much fun laughing and just hanging out. Needless to say I dreamt of numbers all night.
